Follow the instructions for your bat
Preparation differs by construction and intended ball type. Check the product’s care instructions or contact AV before oiling, knocking in or making modifications. Advice for an unprepared leather-ball bat does not automatically apply to a tennis cricket bat.
Keep moisture and heat away
Store the bat in a dry place away from direct heat and prolonged sunlight. After use, wipe away surface dirt with a soft cloth and let any surface dampness dry naturally before storing it. Do not soak the bat or force it dry with a heater.
Inspect before the next game
Check the grip, handle, edges and toe for changes. A loose grip can affect control. If you notice a new crack, a loose handle or an unusual change in feel, stop and ask for advice before continuing to play.
Protect it in transit
A fitted cover helps separate the bat from other equipment during travel. Keep the bat away from heavy items that could press into it, and avoid leaving it in a hot vehicle.
Browse grips, covers and other accessories. Read the warranty policy for coverage and exclusions, or contact AV about a care question.
